Systems thinking

You reason about interactions between components before you reason about components themselves.

Strong fundamentals

Mathematics, algorithms, and engineering primitives are not things you look up — they are things you reason from.

Comfort with ambiguity

You do not need a fully specified problem to begin working. Ambiguity is the normal operating condition.

High ownership

You do not distinguish between your area and the system's area. If something is broken, it is your problem until it is fixed.

Low ego, high clarity

You are more interested in being right than in being seen as right. You can change your position when presented with better evidence.

Production orientation

You measure your work by what runs in production — not by what was built in isolation.
